  • Parkinson’s Association of San Diego Hosts Annual Step by Step 5K Walk and Health Fair on April 5 Creating a Path of Support and Resources for the Parkinson’s Community to Help Live Their Best Life Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. with the event kicking off at 9 a.m., and ending at 11:30 a.m. PDT. Joining the Step by Step 5K Walk and Health Fair is a first step toward support and resources to help those affected by Parkinson’s live their best life. This year’s event unites more than 1,200 participants, offering connections, care and access to 70 health exhibitors. and free coffee and donuts. Dogs are also welcome to join the fun and will receive a special bandana for the walk. Every dollar raised for the Walk stays in San Diego County, directly supporting PASD’s mission to provide essential resources, education and support to thousands of local residents impacted by Parkinson’s disease—ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need. Sharp HealthCare is reinforcing its commitment to the Parkinson’s community and ensuring the event’s success as the title sponsor for the 2025 Walk.   • Monday – Wednesday, April 14 – 16, from 9 a.m. – Noon Ages 4-6 welcome! Taught by artist educator Yael Kent, your preschool age child will explore various crafts across a variety of mediums, like nature crafts in the garden, bubble making wands, nature weaving, and fossils with clay. We will explore through sensory activities, crafts and stories while developing fine motor skills. Littles learn best by doing and playing. We practice handwork and workplay. We “play” with natural objects and materials! Each project is planned so that children build skills while satisfying their need to explore. Projects are safe, non-toxic, earth friendly, and full of creativity. It’s important that your child bring water in a refillable bottle and a snack (no candy or peanut products please) in case they are hungry or thirsty during this time. In addition, if your child is enrolled in a nearby camp elsewhere in Liberty Station in the afternoon, and their camp begins as ours ends, we are happy to walk your child to their next camp.
