The San Diego Humane Society and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Monday they have partnered to allow Ukrainian refugees crossing the U.S.-Mexico border to bring their pets with them.

At UC San Diego Health, there were 67 cases of trauma-related incidents due to falls at the border wall from 2016 to 2019. The number jumped to 375 between 2019 and 2021.

The switch was required by the California Department of Public Health so that most health care systems across the state are using the same software to record COVID-19 vaccinations and all other vaccines administered locally.

According to the NCTD, an average of 12 people die each year due to illegally crossing or walking on NCTD's railroad tracks.

A wind advisory is in effect in parts of San Diego County from 1 p.m. to midnight Thursday.

Air quality sensors will be delivered to Tijuana, Mexico to monitor particulate matter in the air and improve overall air quality in the border region. The region includes San Diego, the California Air Resources Board announced Tuesday.

There were no reports of any damage or public threats related to the quake.

The plan calls for a permanent center that migrants and asylum seekers can use while they finalize travel arrangements to other parts of the country.

There have been 16 earthquakes reported near El Centro and Imperial since midnight.
