San Diego County public health officials reported 742 new coronavirus infections and 17 additional deaths, according to the latest reports.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Bonsall, said Wednesday that his office has facilitated the release of two more U.S. citizens from Afghanistan.

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 3-0 Wednesday to start the process of allowing micro-enterprise home kitchen operations throughout the county.

The order will require patrons and employees to have at least one dose of vaccine by Oct. 7 and receive their second by Nov. 4.

The San Diego Marine Corps Recruit Depot has served as the recruit training center for the western United States since 1923, training nearly 18,000 Marines every year.

San Diego County public health officials reported 593 new coronavirus infections and five additional deaths Tuesday.

The announcement comes after a judge struck down San Diego's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, saying only the state can make that a requirement.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
