Sweltering conditions are continuing in some parts of San Diego County, with multiple heat warnings issued this week, forecasters said Tuesday.

A document acquisition and storage service is now available for homeless people in San Diego, a nonprofit agency.

In an effort to ease animal shelter overcrowding, the San Diego Humane Society is sponsoring its 32nd annual photo calendar fundraiser to raise $125,000.

Blood drives will be held through Aug. 31 at various locations in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Carlsbad, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Encinitas, Escondido, Fallbrook, Imperial Beach, La Jolla, La Mesa, Oceanside, Poway, San Diego, San Marcos, Santee, Solana Beach and Vista.

An excessive heat warning and heat advisory remain in effect until at least 11 p.m. Tuesday for county deserts, mountains and valleys.

Full containment was expected by Wednesday, the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department announced.

After two months of closure, rail service between Orange County and San Diego County resumed Monday on both Metrolink and Amtrak lines.

The weather forecast has led the Padres to cancel FanFest on Sunday.

There were no reports of any damage or public threats related to the quake.
