Cal Fire said the fire started Friday afternoon along state Route 94, near Via Mercado, and burned about 10 acres.

The blaze, which erupted for unknown reasons near Akuunyaa Way shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, caused no reported structural damage but left two of the personnel working the fire lines in need of emergency care.

As of around 4 p.m., the Wildcat fire had scorched roughly 170 acres. A firefighter was reportedly injured battling the blaze.
