Camp Pendleton Marine Sgt. Lawrence Hutchins III will face another trial for the 2006 death of an unarmed civilian in Hamdania, Iraq. Last year the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces overturned Hutchins' murder conviction.

Chuck Hagel is now the third Secretary of Defense to consider whether fallen San Diego Marine Sgt. Rafael Peralta deserves the Medal of Honor. Rep. Duncan Hunter sent Hagel a letter in October asking him to reconsider the evidence of Peralta's bravery, and a Hunter spokesman says the secretary is "looking at it seriously."

Retired Army Sgt. Brendan Marrocco lost all four limbs in a 2009 roadside bomb attack in Iraq. He underwent a double arm transplant, with limbs from a deceased donor, back in January. One thing Brendan didn't lose in war was his wicked sense of humor.

A Texas grand jury indicted Marine veteran Eddie Ray Routh Wednesday on two counts of capital murder in the deaths of "American Sniper" Chris Kyle and Kyle's friend, Chad Littlefield.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces will not take up a request by prosecutors to reconsider its ruling to throw out the conviction of Camp Pendleton Marine Sgt. Lawrence Hutchins III, which allows him to be released from the MCAS Miramar brig as early as today.
