Mingei International Museum Grand Reopening

After closing for a transformative construction project, Mingei International Museum will reopen to the public on Sept. 3, 2021, kicking off a month of celebratory activities and programs including the second annual San Diego Design Week, the return of the art-making program Family Sunday, live performances and artist talks. The grand reopening will reveal a new and dynamic Museum with enhancements to its 1915 Spanish Colonial style building in Balboa Park and an additional 10,000 square feet of space for exhibitions and programming, a theater, education center and amenities including a bistro, store and coffee bar. Admission:Visitors will not be charged admission into the Museum Labor Day weekend, Friday, Sept. 3 through Monday, Sept. 6. Learn more at mingei.org/transformation.
