Classics in Concert is a true ballet lovers’ program, titled, a showcase of the choreographic diversity and talent of Resident Choreographer Elizabeth Wistrich. Her staging of Marius Petipa’s classical tutu ballet "Paquita" maintains the Spanish flavored ballet that remains one of the most popular and beloved classics in the ballet world. Her ‘Gottshalk Festival’ with its inventive choreography captures the excitement and energy of Louis Moreau Gottschalk’s stirring score.
The program includes "Elegies", inspired by Francis Poulenc’s dramatic organ concerto with its complex and emotional choreography. This ballet is a perfect example of why Elizabeth Wistrich is an award-winning choreographer. This production challenges the dancers and allows the audience to witness the exceptional artists they are.
