Treasures from the Past: Lost Restaurants of San Diego

Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10:30 AM
San Diego Central Public Library
Free

Culinary Historians of San Diego will present “Treasures of the Past: Lost Restaurants of San Diego,” with Martin S. Lindsay, at 10:30 a.m., May 21, in the Neil Morgan Auditorium of San Diego Central Library, 330 Park Blvd., San Diego.

What makes a restaurant memorable, even years after it’s gone? Is it the location, food, the people, or the good times you had there? Join author Martin Lindsay as he takes us on a visual tour of some of the keepers — San Diego’s loved (and not so loved) long-lost restaurants.

Martin S. Lindsay, AIGA, is an art director, author, and currently serves as board chair of Culinary Historians of San Diego. He blogs about food and history at ClassicSanDiego.com, and is author of “Ninety Years of Classic San Diego Tiki,” and has contributed to Tim Ferris’ bestseller “The 4-Hour Chef.” Martin has over 40 years experience in branding and design. His design firm serves the San Diego arts community, foodservice and restaurant industries. And, Martin has just been awarded the 2022 People in Preservation Award for Cultural Preservation from SOHO (Save Our Heritage Organization).

The event is free and open to the public. A tasting and book signing will follow the presentation.
