Kanekoa; 'Ukulele-Powered Hawaiian Jam Rock Band

Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 7 PM
Museum of Making Music
$25 to $30

Join us for an evening of music with the 'ukulele-powered Hawaiian jam-rock band Kanekoa. For this performance, the band will feature singer/rhythm ukulele player Kaulana Kanekoa, ukulele virtuoso Vince Esquire, and Uncle Don Lopez on the U-Bass.

About Kanekoa:
Maui’s Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning band Kanekoa is powered by electric ‘ukuleles and exotic rhythms. Kanekoa rides the wave of Hawaiian roots with jam band energy, creating a sound they call Hawaiian jam-rock.

The Grateful Dead’s drummer Bill Kreutzmann goes so far as to call them, “the Hawaiian Grateful Dead.” David Hidalgo of Los Lobos says, “These guys scare me. They are that good.” The Maui News says “Kanekoa’s new album, Songs from the Great Disruption, is easily one of the best releases by a Maui band ever.”
