The Hemlock Society presents "The Carer." Michael, a theatrical legend, is suffering from Parkinson’s Disease that has left him deteriorating and cantankerous. After he alienates a host of caregivers, his daughter forces a new companion on him who has acting aspirations of her own. They develop a close relationship that helps him regain his vigor and sense of meaning, but Michael learns of his scheming daughter’s plans to remove his caregiver and the drama unfolds. The film is a reminder of how the elderly are often treated as if their useful days are behind them, but these feisty, fully, alive people can show us how to live.

The Pacific Beach/Taylor Library is one of 35 branches of the San Diego Public Library. The PB Library provides a wide range of services to the community. Manuel Oncina, the architect, designed the building to resemble the shape of a nautilus shell. While the shell motif is best seen from overhead, the open design of the building and the many windows that let in sunlight create an organic feel that ties in with the natural beauty of this beach community. Nestled against the Taylor Greene, a park just east of the library that completes the rest of the city block, the Library is a welcoming destination point. We hope that you enjoy your virtual visit to the Pacific Beach/Taylor Branch Library. We are looking forward to seeing you here -- online & in person -- often!
