“DAY FOR NIGHT” (LA NUIT AMERICAINE)
(1973. 115 minutes)
Francois Truffaut celebrates the chaos and creativity of moviemaking in his irreverent love letter to the cinema. Truffaut stars as a seasoned director of a tawdry melodrama who must navigate the off-screen dramas that swirl around him — an impetuous leading man (Jean-Pierre Leandro), a fading diva (Valentina Cortese) and a troubled starlet (Jacqueline Bisset).
(In French with English subtitles).
FILM FORUM CORONADO is held in the Winn Room at the Coronado Public Library, on the first and third Wednesdays, with a brief introduction before the film and a discussion afterward, led by Ralph DeLauro. This program is presented by the Coronado Public Library and the Coronado Island Film Festival.
