Francois Truffaut celebrates the chaos and creativity of moviemaking in his irreverent love letter to the cinema. Truffaut stars as a seasoned director of a tawdry melodrama who must navigate the off-screen dramas that swirl around him — an impetuous leading man (Jean-Pierre Leandro), a fading diva (Valentina Cortese) and a troubled starlet (Jacqueline Bisset).
