Join us for an intimate and inspirational evening with multi-award winning author Leslie Ferguson and her book When I was her Daughter. With raw honesty, Ferguson depicts her journey through madness, loss, and a broken child-welfare system. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

About the book:
Seven-year-old Leslie has a serious problem. Someone is trying to kill her. She and her little brother must confront the stark reality of living with their mother’s raging psychosis. Other family members try to help, but they are no match for the unpredictability that comes with mental illness. Once in foster care, Leslie learns that life doesn't improve. . . until one simple and unexpected question changes Leslie's world forever.

Leslie Ferguson enjoyed a career as a high school English teacher and college writing instructor for two decades before relocating to San Diego to pursue work in the publishing industry. Currently, Leslie sits on the Board of Directors of the International Memoir Writers Association, and she loves performing original stories and poems. As an editor and book doctor, one of Leslie’s passions is helping other writers tell their own stories with courage and emotional honesty. Her multi-award-winning debut memoir, When I Was Her Daughter, tells her story of madness, loss, and survival as a foster kid in the 1980s.
