Join Professor Natalye Pass Harpin of Grossmont College for an enlightening discussion exploring the reality of Nazism's racial policies towards people of African descent during the Nazi era, and the impact of that legacy on contemporary race relations in Germany and in Europe. Nazi racial policies against people of Afro-descendants are not as well documented as those against Jews and the Roma people. Though not systematically eliminated like other groups, Black people faced persecution that ranged from isolation to outright murder.

Professor Harpin teaches history and African American Studies at Grossmont College. Passionate about history, Professor Harpin is compelled to showing connections between past history and current events, believing that when you get information, you have an obligation to share it. Professor Harpin also teaches for UCSD’s Dimensions of Culture program. She is active in her community, and works at establishing solidarity with other communities by learning about their unique struggle.

The New facility has over 400 computer devices, 22 study rooms, a charter high school, 3D printer (maker lab), auditorium, teen center, homework center, Veteran’s Resource Center, art gallery, rare book room, children’s library, café and much more.
