Join a diverse slate of fine San Diego poets including San Diego Poet Laureate, Jason Magabo Perez, paying homage and celebrating the 4th annual Hafez Day in San Diego while using verse as an avenue for peace and international connection. Music by Namaad Ensemble of Persian Classical Music.

700 years after his death, the Persian 14th century poet Hafez remains Iran's and one of the world’s most revered writers. He is the only writer to have a national holiday named after him, reflecting the unparalleled legacy of his work. Besides Iran, Hafez Day is celebrated in 61 other countries across the globe.
