Asian Story Theater presents “Where We Lay Our Sorrows Down,” a one-act play with puppets and soundscape by ARTS (A Reason to Survive) that explores grief and the healing power of Nature. Written by Thelma Virata de Castro, the play is part of her Far South/Border North Cultivating JOY social justice campaign.

Skyline Hills Library
Built as a model for future construction, the Skyline Hills Library opened in 2016 as one of the most modern and efficient buildings in the City of San Diego. The single-story, 15,000-square-foot facility was designed to address the needs of the Skyline Hills and Paradise Hills communities. A large community room and kitchen provide space for educational and cultural events throughout the year. The library includes children and teen spaces, study areas, a computer lab and a designated homework space for students. This new library replaces the former 4,400-square-foot library building at 480 South Meadowbrook Drive which was outdated and no longer adequate to serve this dynamic neighborhood.
