Burke Lectureship on Religion and Society presents E. J. Dionne: Can Overcoming Loneliness and Isolation Heal a Divided America?
UC San Diego is hosting distinguished Georgetown University professor and prominent journalist E.J. Dionne as a part of the Spring 2024 Burke Lectureship on Religion and Society. His two-hour lecture advocates for bridging societal divides by addressing issues like social isolation and loneliness, inviting the audience to contemplate solutions for transcending political boundaries.
E.J. Dionne is a long-time op-ed columnist for The Washington Post and a respected political commentator. He is also a distinguished university professor in the Foundations of Democracy and Culture at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy and a senior fellow and W. Averell Harriman Chair in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution. He has authored nine books, including the New York Times Bestseller “Why the Right Went Wrong.”
