Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a Surrealist Mexican painter, known for her vibrant colors, unflinching self-portraits, works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico, and her celebration of its indigenous culture.
In this lecture, Professor of Humanities Gwenyth Mapes will look at her life and some of her art. Dr. Mapes is a Professor of Humanities at Grossmont College and taught as an Assistant Professor of Humanities at the University of Montana in Missoula.
