Free Film and Discussion in the Winn Room

Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Friends of the Coronado Public Library and Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library's Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

“Portrait of Jennie” (1948, 86 min) - One of Spanish surrealist filmmaker Luis Bunuel’s top 10 films of all time!  A struggling painter (Joseph Cotten) meets an ethereal young woman (Jennifer Jones) who becomes his muse. Has he fallen in love with a  ghost? Featuring Ethel Barrymore and Lillian Gish.
