Join us at the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve in Imperial Beach for a special joint event with KPBS, Parks California and California State Parks. A hidden gem in San Diego’s South Bay, the estuary is on the border between the United States and Mexico and is the largest coastal wetland in Southern California.

Enjoy light refreshments, learn about the ecological and social importance the estuary, and enjoy an optional short (1/3 mile) guided walk through the estuary.

From the Visitor Center, guests can easily access our North and South McCoy trails (open daily), which take visitors into prime bird-watching areas and to the mouth of the Tijuana River. There are limited picnic areas near the Visitor Center. Equestrian trails are available on the south end of the Tijuana Estuary in Border Field State Park.
