Techniques for writing crime fiction can be applied to nearly any genre. Learn how suspense and mystery can help drive narrative, turning a plod into a page-turner. Through discussion and in-class exercises, we will cover the use of conflict to create plot, what we mean when we talk about pacing, different ways to increase tension, and avoiding the dreaded “info dump.”
