Dark Christmas provides a novel approach to holiday festivities by echoing the ages old traditions of mid-European folklore and celebration of winter. It consists of a holiday market that showcases unique and offbeat vendors in downtown Vista and features a Krampus Run. The Backfence Society, Twisted Heart Puppetworks and the Vista Art Foundation collaborate to create this market inspired by the European Kristkindl Markets of old Europe, offering a decidedly different twist on the typical Christmas events.
Expect to see Dark Christmas art, Krampus inspired puppetry, Tarot and Rune readers, delicious food and spiced cider and a good old fashioned Bavarian Krampus and Winter Spirits procession to end the evening.
