Salute to Vienna New Year’s Concert is a joyful, lively experience that has delighted audiences in San Diego for more than 20 years. Every holiday season, this beloved tradition bursts to life at Jacob Music Center's Copley Symphony Hall with music, bright costumes, and lush flowers. As dancers enliven timeless melodies, including the Blue Danube Waltz, the Maestro regales the audience with stories (and a joke or two) from the conductor’s podium. Ring in 2025 with soaring arias, romantic duets, and festive overtures, courtesy of the “Waltz King,” Johann Strauss Jr.
This beloved musical celebration evokes the enchantment and grandeur of Vienna’s Golden Age with a new cast and musical program each year. Performed by some of Europe’s finest singers, internationally celebrated dancers, and a full orchestra conducted by an expert in Viennese music, this concert experience is the perfect way to greet the New Year.
Just like a champagne toast at midnight, it wouldn’t be New Year’s without Salute to Vienna!

Copley Symphony Hall at Jacobs Music Center
Historic Copley Symphony Hall at Jacobs Music Center, home of the San Diego Symphony, is regarded as one of the finest classical music venues on the West Coast. Originally built in 1929 as a premiere movie house (known then as The Fox Theater), this lush, French Rococo/ Spanish Colonial blend-style hall was conferred to the Symphony in 1984. The beauty and majesty of this historic hall has added to the stature and artistic growth of San Diego Symphony. San Diego Symphony performed its first concert on Dec. 6, 1910. In the 97 years since its inception, San Diego Symphony has become one of the leading orchestras in the United States. It is committed to providing musical experiences of superior quality for the greater San Diego community and beyond. Through a rich mixture of innovative and educational programming designed to appeal to all ages and cultures, the Symphony makes music an integral part of the cultural and intellectual fabric of the San Diego region, valued by and relevant to all its residents. Copley Symphony Hall is a multi-functional facility that can host concerts, comedy shows, corporate & civic events, film screenings and more. It is equipped with state-of-the-art digital sound and lighting technology, and normally seats up to 2235, with possible front row expansions accommodating 39 more. Embedded inside the performance chamber is a full-sized Robert Morton pneumatic pipe organ and two carbon-arc film projectors.
