All are welcome to join our Youth Services Librarian, Ms. Jackie, in celebrating Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a time honored tradition remembering the beloved lives of those who came before us. Ms. Jackie will share a special story, lead the group with fun songs while playing her jarana, followed by an engaging sugar skull decorating craft.

Special acknowledgement to the Dr. Seuss Foundation for its help in making this program possible.

One of the largest neighborhood libraries in San Diego, the Otay Mesa-Nestor Library reopened in 2006 following a $4.6 million expansion and renovation. The 15,000-square-foot facility features a large community room and conference room, a computer lab, reading alcoves and a peaceful outdoor space. The renovation came 20 years after the original library was dedicated in 1986 and allows the library to better accommodate an increasing number of patrons and services provided, including computer and internet access.
