Gather your fellow ghouls, ghosts, and film fanatics for a cinematic Halloween night under the stars at San Diego’s iconic Cinema Under the Stars!
This is a night to let our freak flags fly, believe in the unbelievable, and celebrate creativity in all its eerie glory. Expect an evening where spooky meets social, films meet fans, and Halloween gets an adult twist with a distinctly San Diego soul. From local legends to national talent, this year’s filmmakers are bringing their best chills, laughs, and thrills to the big screen. You’ll leave feeling energized, inspired, and just a little bit spellbound.
Here’s the spooky scoop on what’s brewing for the evening:
Pre-party at CJ’s Lounge, start your Halloween adventure around the corner just a few blocks down from the theatre with drinks, tunes, and great company. 222 W West Washington, 92103.
7 p.m. Doors Open at Cinema Under the Stars: Step through our haunted entrance into a world where spooky meets cinematic. Enjoy a catered cocktail hour and photobooth before the screenings begin.
8:30 p.m. Screening Begins: Settle in for a curated selection of independent films that are spooky, funny, and beautifully strange.
10 p.m. Costume Party + Live Music + Surprise Apparitions: When the credits roll, the party begins! Dance, mingle, and enjoy a few unexpected moments of magic.
12 a.m. After Party at CJ’s Lounge: End the night where it began with great drinks, great people, and stories you’ll still be laughing about tomorrow.

This event is now in its third year celebrating Halloween at this beloved Mission Hills theatre, and its second year as the official San Diego Halloween Film Fest. Don’t miss out on an evening full of unforgettable fun brought to you by Noble House Media and Good Vibe Cinema! Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.

Cinema Under The Stars
Cinema Under the Stars is an intimate outdoor movie theater in Mission Hills, directly behind Tops Salon. The theater features a 20-foot screen with HD projection and THX surround sound. Open air seating includes your choice of single & double zero-gravity recliners, love seat cabanas, or deck chairs with ottomans. For additional comfort, there are pillows, blankets and heaters and a waterproof canvas cover installed for the Winter months, in case of rain. Concessions: Popcorn, candy and assorted hot or cold beverages are $2 each. There are also several restaurants within walking distance in the neighborhood for dinner before the movie. Enjoy classic films, cult favorites and recent releases on the weekends, year round. There will be a brief introduction and a classic cartoon prior to the film. Films begin at 8 p.m. Winter/Spring - January through March (Friday, Saturdays, and some Sundays) Spring - April and May (usually Friday, Saturday, Sundays) Summer - Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sundays Fall - After Labor Day, September through October (usually Friday, Saturday, Sundays) (Films for November and December will be announced soon) Admission - (cash or check only) Members - $17.00 General - $18.00 Online Reservations - $20.00 (use credit card to reserve seats) Hours - Box office opens at 6 p.m. on movie nights Reservations - Begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays Parking - there is a paid parking lot next door and free street parking in the neighborhood, after 6:00 p.m.
