"Town & Country" by Brian Schaefer is set in a fictional rural community just outside of city limits that has become a popular weekend getaway for a clique of gay second homeowners. The novel is set amid a congressional race between an ambitious young politician and a local bar owner, with a wide cast of characters that are so authentically human, they feel like our own family, friends, and neighbors by the final pages.

Early readers have identified Brian as a writer to watch, and the trades are calling it “thoroughly engaging and intelligent (Kirkus), “engrossing” (Publishers Weekly), and “heartbreakingly authentic” (Booklist).
