"Creativity & Madness" invites you on a journey through the sublime and the unexpected, where Baroque elegance meets bold modern invention.
Narrated by the captivating Robert John Hughes, this dynamic program weaves together the timeless beauty of Marin Marais’ "La Folia," the rich textures of Beethoven and Paganini, and the contemporary voices of Nathan Daughtrey and Jordan Kuspa.
Kuspa’s newly commissioned chamber work—celebrating the rich biodiversity of San Diego County—adds a vibrant and local voice to the mix. From the rhythmic pulse of guitar and cajón in "Tempestad" to the shimmering interplay of flute and marimba in "Azul," each piece explores the delicate balance between structure and freedom — between creativity and madness. Performed by an ensemble of flute, strings, piano, guitar, percussion, and more, this evening promises a kaleidoscope of color, emotion, and musical adventure.

A wooden grillage frames the elegant curvature to the seating area creating a shape reminiscent of a European opera house. Outside this framework, lighting washes the walls in color to create a sense of space beyond.
