Women's History Month Choral Evensong at First UMC San Diego in Mission Valley

In person & online: The second Evensong service in the 2025-26 music series will be Saturday, March 7 with guest organist, Emma Whitten.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Evensong service will feature all music written by female composers, including the world premiere of Joanna Forbes "L'Estrange's Nunc Dimittis" (Song of Simeon) from the San Diego Service!
The program starts with an extended organ prelude at 6 p.m. and the Evensong begins at 6:15 p.m. First Church’s Chamber Choir will lead this beautiful service, led by Brian Woods-Lustig, Conductor. It will be immediately followed by a choral concert of both sacred and secular music by the Minnetonka High School Choir from Minnesota.
