"Veterans History Project II: The Journey Continues" is a public oral history event dedicated to honoring and preserving the lived experiences of U.S. military veterans from San Diego County.

Taking place on April 8, 2026, at California State University San Marcos, the event will feature highlights from recorded veteran oral histories, community recognition, and reflections on the importance of documenting veterans’ stories with care, dignity, and permanence.

The program builds on the success of the original Veterans History Project and continues an ongoing effort to ensure that veterans’ voices are recorded, respected, and archived for future generations. Attendees will include veterans, students, educators, civic leaders, and community members.

The evening will include a community reception, featured speakers, and a highlight presentation showcasing oral histories from local San Diego County veterans, produced in collaboration with the CSUSM Library Special Collections Department.

The event is open to the public.
