Becoming a Florist is a workshop series with rotating floral design themes. Each workshop focuses on a different foundational floral form that professional florists create for weddings, events, or retail work. Students have the opportunity to build real-world design experience and learn professional florist approaches to mechanics, structure, and design, along with practical considerations like handling, transport, and flower care.
This Month’s Focus: Flower Crowns
In this workshop, we’ll focus on designing a flower crown. Instruction will cover the specific mechanics, proportions, and techniques used for this style, along with guidance on flower selection and construction suited to its purpose and use. Participants will create one flower crown during the workshop to take home.
No prior professional experience, portfolio, or proof of previous classes is required to participate. All skill levels welcome, from novice hobbyists to working florists looking to expand their technical skills and confidence. Take one workshop in the series, or sign up for multiple to progress through foundational and advanced floral forms.
Ticket Includes:
- Comprehensive, engaging instruction led by Native Poppy’s professional florists
- All materials, tools, and seasonal flowers to build a fresh flower crown
- Complimentary refreshments
- Plus: the floral crown you create to take home
