“LOCAL HERO” (1983. 111 min. PG.) - Packed with puckish humor, droll one liners and eccentric characters, Bill Forsyth’s magical culture clash comedy put Scottish cinema on the map. A whizz-kid junior oil exec (Peter Riegert) is sent by his star-gazing boss (Burt Lancaster) to persuade a Scottish fishing village to sell up and make way for an oil refinery.

An American oil company sends a man to Scotland to buy up an entire village where they want to build a refinery. But things don't go as expected.
