Coronado’s Crown City Open Water Swim (formerly the 4th of July Rough Water Swim) is a long-standing Independence Day weekend tradition bringing together swimmers, families, clubs, and the local community for an unforgettable open water experience at Glorietta Bay Park, alongside support from Coronado’s local swim community including Coronado Swim Team Elite.
Set against the backdrop of the iconic Coronado Bridge, the protected bay course offers calm water conditions, creating an ideal environment for both first-time open water swimmers and experienced competitors alike. The updated event lineup features the 1-Mile Open Water Swim as the featured main event distance, alongside the ½ Mile Open Water Swim and the 250m Youth/Kids Sprint Swim, creating an approachable and exciting race day experience for swimmers of all ages and ability levels.
