A Peaceful End of Life: Understanding VSED (Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking). A free online education by the Hemlock Society!
What if you reached a point where living no longer reflected your values, but you did not qualify for Medical Aid in Dying?
Many people are surprised to learn there is another legal end of life option called Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED).
VSED is a deeply personal decision in which a mentally capable person chooses to stop eating and drinking in order to allow a natural death. While the decision belongs entirely to the individual, proper planning, medical oversight, hospice involvement, and compassionate support help make the experience as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
Join the Hemlock Society of San Diego for an informative discussion exploring the medical, practical, emotional, and family aspects of VSED.
Whether you are planning ahead, supporting someone with a serious illness, or simply want to understand all of your legal end of life options, this program offers thoughtful education in a respectful and compassionate environment.
