Reverse Tashlich: A JCC Cares Coastal Cleanup

Join the Lawrence Family JCC, Repair the Sea®, and Jewish communities around the globe for Reverse Tashlich—an international waterfront cleanup initiative!

Traditionally, on Rosh Hashanah, Jews gather at bodies of water for Tashlich, symbolically casting off sins into the water to start the New Year renewed. For Reverse Tashlich, we join thousands of volunteers worldwide to combine tradition with action: we'll gather to cast off sins using stones, and then work together to remove real marine debris and pollution from Mission Bay.

What to Expect:

- A brief, meaningful Tashlich ritual using stones

- Hands-on community service suitable for all ages

- Citizen Science data collection supporting local research with I Love A Clean San Diego

- All supplies provided (gloves, trash bags, and pickers)
