With the American Composers Project, Dana Zimbric and the California Chamber Orchestra celebrate 250 years of the American Spirit through music. The series is supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
This concert features the music of George Gershwin on his 128th birthday. The program includes:
George Gershwin (1898 – 1937): "Rhapsody in Blue" featuring Ines Irawati, piano soloist
Jessie Montgomery (b. 1981): "Shift, Change, Turn"
Antonin Dvorak (1841 – 1904): Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”)
