Pope Leo XIV’s recent encyclical has sparked global conversation, and it’s easy to see why. It tackles one of the defining questions of our era: What does AI mean for human dignity, work, and our shared future. It follows a long line of Catholic teaching on social justice concerning “new things” that affect the dignity of humans and their labor. The document is intellectually rich, deeply human, and leaves us with a challenge: if we want to disarm the earth, we must first disarm our words. In an age where our tools can amplify both our ideals and our worst impulses, it is quite an invitation to reflect. Come join Dr. Oliva M. North University Community Library
The North University Community Library is located at Nobel and Judicial Drives, in the vicinity of 805. The library is in a park setting with a design for expansion when needed. Inside features include a children’s and storytelling area with a separate children/young adult librarian on site, an adult and young adult area, a computer lab with 14 computers and wireless access throughout the library, a self checkout station, two seminar meeting rooms, a separate Friends’ book store, a community/meeting room available after hours and a coffee kiosk in the vicinity of the entrance to the library.
