This time the program will highlight our most requested topic in the series, La Jolla's Role in Science. We welcome Meenakshi Wadhwa, Director of the La Jolla Scripps Institute of Oceanography and the influential woman who is shaping La Jolla’s SIO landscape.
In 1903, our benefactor Ellen Browning Scripps directly funded the founding of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, including the first permanent laboratory and our beloved pier. Today the SIO focuses on marine biology, climate change and conservation, earth science and ocean and human health. This will prove to be another fantastic evening of learning from our distinguished woman leader in Science.
