Earth / House / Hold presents Our Words Turn to Air, a solo exhibition of paintings by Los Angeles-based artist Andie Ryan Round.

There are experiences that resist being held by language.

Dust settles. Water evaporates. Breath leaves the body. Forms shift at the edges of perception before we have words for what has changed.

Working primarily in pastel, Round explores dissolution and metamorphosis through processes of material transformation. Dust meets varnish and rubbing alcohol, creating surfaces that soften, disperse, and reform. Echoes of elemental forces such as wind, water, fire and earth move through paintings that are suspended between appearance and disappearance, gesture and atmosphere.

Our Words Turn to Air invites sustained looking, where meaning emerges through material presence, perception, and time.
