Sewing is not dead! Join us for Slow Fashion Day 2026, a free community celebration of sustainable fashion in the heart of San Diego. San Diego was the first major U.S. city to officially proclaim a Slow Fashion Day, and this year’s event is bigger than ever - a full day of creativity, community, and rethinking the way we make and wear our clothes.

Bring a piece of clothing to rework, repair, or swap! Whether you want to breathe new life into an old favorite or find your next treasure, there’s something for everyone.

What to expect:

- Designer’s Market curated by W8sted Heart, featuring local sustainable makers and artists

- Slow Fashion Runway Show featuring new collections by Sew Loka and The Homegrown Project, plus a community Cut & Sew showcase, hosted by Ramel Wallace

- Sewing Lounge with 35+ machines and an Embroidery Lounge

- Upcycled sewing workshops led by celebrated designers Paul Chevallier (Toofbush) and Ashley Nell Tipton

- Clothing Swap hosted by I Love A Clean San Diego featuring 200+ pieces donated by RE:UNIQLO Studios. Bring a piece to swap and take home something new!

- The Solana Center hands-on crafting station and an interactive natural fiber and dye discovery activity

- Live painting by Selena Idioma and Dentlok Angeles

- Make-and-take craft stations featuring block-print patches with Arela (Rae) and felt button wallets

- Live music by Vivi Nubes and Rhonda Glez, with DJ sets by Beazie Beats

- Food and coffee available all day

Come create your own iconic look, connect with your community, and celebrate a slower, more sustainable approach to fashion.
