About The Stardust Sextet
he Stardust Sextet is a professional swing band led by vocalist Shaina May, featuring arrangements by pianist Ezri Martinez Mata. Together, they draw inspiration from the stylings and arrangements of artists such as Sarah Vaughan, Dakota Staton, Lorez Alexandria, Caity Gyorgy, Mel Torme, and Frank Sinatra. The Sextet performs arrangements of jazz standards ranging from big band classics to lesser-known gems, carefully adapted for their distinctive instrumentation.
While the Stardust Sextet shines best in its full ensemble, the group is available for booking as a duo or quartet. Core members of the full ensemble include Shaina May (vocals), Ezri Martinez Mata (piano), Brooklyn Ludlow (drums), Isaiah Lightfoot (double bass), Christian DeLost (tenor saxophone, flute), and Julian Quinones (trombone), with additional contributions from Angelo Cueto (guitar) .
Known for their thoughtful arrangements, musical precision, and vintage-inspired style, the Stardust Sextet is equally at home in concert settings, private events, and swing dance nights. Their performances offer a compelling blend of elegance, energy, and historical reverence, inviting audiences to enjoy the enduring magic of swing.
