Adult Improv Classes at National Comedy Theatre

You don’t have to be an actor or comedian to take an improv class. In fact, most of our students aren’t performers at all.

National Comedy Theatre offers six-week improv classes for adults who want to have fun, meet new people, build confidence and get more comfortable thinking on their feet. Classes are active, social and low-pressure, with no previous acting or improv experience required.

Students learn the fundamentals of improvisation through games, exercises and scenework taught by experienced members of NCT’s professional Mainstage cast. The program begins with Level 1 for complete beginners and continues through intermediate and advanced training for students who want to keep going.

National Comedy Theatre has been performing and teaching improv in San Diego since 1999. With more than 25 years of experience, over 7,000 performances and thousands of students trained, NCT brings the same skills used by its professional performers into the classroom.

Classes are for adults ages 18 and up. New sessions are offered throughout the year.

No experience necessary. Just show up ready to participate and try something different.
