After-School 2D Mixed Media Class

Students will explore a variety of 2D art techniques using oil pastels and watercolor paints. Throughout the session, they’ll create multiple artworks while learning how to blend, layer, and experiment with each medium. They will also be introduced to pointillism, creating both an individual piece and a collaborative group artwork in this vibrant painting style.

Parents are welcome to drop off their child for class or stay in our space during the class while students create. Feel free to choose what works best for you!

Sample Class Format

- Week 1: Introduction to oil pastels — blending, shading, and mark-making

- Week 2: Introduction to watercolor — creating textures and washes

- Week 3: Watercolor + oil pastel resist project

- Week 4: Introduction to pointillism — color studies and scene exploration

- Week 5: Final individual pointillism artwork

- Week 6: Collaborative pointillism mural + Mini Art Show
