$180 / $200 + $25 materials fee paid to instructor
Discover the tactile and expansive art of bookbinding, a medium that lends itself to various art practices. The class will enfold basic methods of bookbinding, where students will learn multiple processes of stitching and folding. Students will walk away from the class with multiple books to fill up however they please, ending the class with one simple fully realized book project. Although students may have bookbinding experience, this course assumes no formal training in the arts.
Materials: Bee’s wax, thread, sewing needles, bone folder, punch awl, X-Acto blades, ruler, cutting mat, neutral pH adhesive, various papers.
