“DONNIE DARKO” (2001. 113 minutes. R) - Richard Kelly’s head-spinning, genre- bending journey down the rabbit hole. A brooding suburbanite (Jake Gyllenhaal) is subject to strange visions, cosmic upheavals and a malevolent bunny named Frank. Cinema Under The Stars
Cinema Under the Stars is an intimate outdoor movie theater in Mission Hills, directly behind Tops Salon. The theater features a 20-foot screen with HD projection and THX surround sound. Open air seating includes your choice of single & double zero-gravity recliners, love seat cabanas, or deck chairs with ottomans. For additional comfort, there are pillows, blankets and heaters and a waterproof canvas cover installed for the Winter months, in case of rain. Concessions: Popcorn, candy and assorted hot or cold beverages are $2 each. There are also several restaurants within walking distance in the neighborhood for dinner before the movie. Enjoy classic films, cult favorites and recent releases on the weekends, year round. There will be a brief introduction and a classic cartoon prior to the film.
