Fiesta de Reyes in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park will present Día de los Muertos – La Experiencia from September 1 through November 2, 2026. Beginning a month earlier this year, the free, family-friendly experience transforms the Fiesta de Reyes plaza with dozens of artful and interpretive displays, including Catrinas, decorated skulls and skeletons, traditional and contemporary altars and thousands of marigold-inspired details.
New for 2026, an integrated lighting package will connect the installations throughout the plaza, adding depth, color and atmosphere after sunset and creating an entirely different way to experience the transformation in the evening.
Guests may explore La Experiencia throughout its two-month run while enjoying the plaza’s dining, shopping and live entertainment. Additional entertainment and special-activity schedules will be posted as they are confirmed.
