A New York–born prodigy who came up through the West Village clubs and refined his craft at Juilliard, Rodriguez fuses jazz, funk, and soul into a sound that feels both timeless and boldly modern.
In jazz, piano and drums have always lived on opposite sides of the bandstand. No one has built a band around the walk from one to the other. No one has made the empty seat part of the music. Julius Rodriguez will be the first.
