Pop Up Picnic Co. is set to enchant Carlsbad once again with the return of PICNICS + FLOWERS, a unique picnic experience at The Flower Fields from March 23 to May 12, 2024. Every Saturday and Sunday, guests can indulge in an upscale outdoors adventure featuring curated bites, live music, and breathtaking views of The Flower Fields and the San Diego coastline. Building on the success of the previous year, this edition promises more shade structures, semi-private picnic spaces, reserved parking, a private entrance, complimentary wagon rides, an expanded menu, live music, and a family-fun zone with interactive games.
Attendees at PICNICS + FLOWERS can anticipate a culinary delight, with tasting menus offering choices like Cucumber Chive sandwiches, Chickpea Smash sandwiches, Ham and Tomato Sandwiches, seasonal side salads, mini charcuterie, and delightful fruit pies on a stick. Refreshing beverages such as hibiscus-lemon aguas frescas and mint-infused water will accompany the delectable bites.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch
For over sixty years, Mother Nature has transformed the rolling hills of North San Diego County into one of the most spectacular and coordinated displays of natural color and beauty anywhere in the world. The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch® in Carlsbad, California, are in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year – from early March through early May – literally bringing the famous fields back to life. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area’s local heritage, also is one of nature’s official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California. The Flower Fields are an alcohol and tobacco-free environment, smoking and alcoholic beverages are not permitted onsite. No pets, bicycles, hoverboards or drones are permitted.
