Cygnet Theatre, now in the Arts District at Liberty Station, presents the San Diego premiere of the heartfelt, uplifting musical "Somewhere Over the Border." Inspired by a real-life journey, it blends magical realism with the charm of "The Wizard of Oz" as it follows Reina’s courageous path to build a better life. With vibrant characters and a lively, Latin-inspired score infused with cumbia, mariachi, boleros, American rock, and hip hop, the show explores family, sacrifice, and the pursuit of the American Dream—reminding us that courage can lead us anywhere, even over the rainbow.
