This year's San Diego International Organ Festival will showcase the role of women in music. Performances are every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, from June 27 through Sept. 5, 2022. All Spreckels Organ Pavilion concerts are free and open to the public.
After two prelude performances, June 27 and July 4, the festival will officially kick off on Monday, Jul. 11 with organist Nicole Keller.

This season’s “Women in Music Festival” focuses on the role women have had on both music composition and performance in our history.
The Chicago Crusader calls Nicole Keller “…an aggressive player with outstanding technique and fine musical sensibilities…” Keller brings a breadth of musical experience as a concert artist. After her successful performance at the National Festival of the American Guild of Organists in 2021, she will now offer her first concert at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa.

(Photo: The Spreckels Summer Organ Festival of 2009 by Bob Lang) The Spreckels Organ Pavilion is the home of the world’s largest outdoor pipe organ with over 4,500 pipes. Constructed for the 1915 Pan American Exposition and given to the city by John and Adolf Spreckels, the Pavilion is located in the heart of Balboa Park and is the setting for a wide variety of public and civic events. The facility hosts an International Organ Festival on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. during the summer and the Twilight in the Park Concert Series on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays during the summer at 6:15pm. In addition, the Pavilion is the site of numerous concerts, graduations, weddings and special events throughout the year. Free, public organ concerts by the Civic Organist or guest artists are presented at 2 p.m. every Sunday afternoon of the year. Directions: Take Hwy 163 south to Park Blvd., go left at the stop light then left onto President’s Way, which is the next stop light. The Organ Pavilion parking lot is located directly behind the Pavilion on the corner of President’s Way and Pan American Road East. More parking is available in the adjacent lots that are located behind and in front of the Hall of Champions and the Starlight Bowl or you can take the Balboa Park Tram.
