Teen-Versionary was created as a unique performance experience for LGBTQIA+ and allied teens who create a brave and safe space to creatively collaborate on a new scripted play or text that explores queer themes, issues, and experiences. This program is made free of charge to all participating teens thanks to the generous support of our donors and sponsors.
This year’s performance will fuse queer youth experience with movement, music and more to create a new show that will be performed as part of the 2023 San Diego Pride Festival. All performances are free and will take place at Diversionary Theatre. All are welcome.

Diversionary Theatre
Diversionary Theatre is situated in the San Diego neighborhood of University Heights, just minutes from all the major freeways and right next to Hillcrest. We are located 2 blocks North of El Cajon Boulevard. The box office, lobby and concessions are located on the first floor of the building. The theatre is located on the second floor, and is accessible by both stairs and a lift. Diversionary Theatre was founded in 1986 to provide quality theatre for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. The mission of the theatre is to provide an inspiring and thought provoking theatrical platform to explore complex and diverse LGBT stories, which influence the larger cultural discussion. Our vision is to foster and amplify the next generation of LGBT voices providing live entertainment in a dynamic, inclusive and provocative environment that celebrates and preserves our unique culture.
